The Happy Dog Microblog: Meet Hank the Hound!

Hank (N.K.A. Goose) - adopted

A special spotlight for our most amazing dogs

The Happy Dog Microblog highlights one dog each month who—at no fault of their own—need extra help finding the perfect family. We believe that there is a perfect home for every dog in rescue. And, with a little luck and rescue fairy dust, we hope that that person might just be you!

A message from his foster:

Hank is my sixth foster in two years, but my first senior hound. He has shown me that it’s just as rewarding to take in a senior pet as it is a puppy. While he most likely lived a life outdoors, he quickly adapted to being an indoor dog. He showed me that you can in fact teach an old dog new tricks…walking on a leash, sitting for treats, and cuddling on a couch. I’ve enjoyed going on this journey with him, allowing him to heal and get ready to ride out his best years in his forever home.

Nicknames: Goose, Stooge, Goofus Dufus

Favorite food: Whatever he can steal from the pantry shelf

Favorite hobbies: Sniffing for deer, howling at deer, then napping

Ideal Saturday Night: A romantic stroll while the sun is setting sniffing for deer, enjoying a nightcap of a peanut butter filled hoof, finished by reclining on the couch watching Law and Order reruns.

Fun fact: Hank grabs his leash and does a happy dance EVERY SINGLE TIME he knows he’s going for a walk

Favorite song: “Get up, Stand up” by Bob Marley (he listens to reggae music during storms) Voted most likely to: Snore so badly his partner sleeps on the couch

Likes: Walks, walks, and more walks

Dislikes: Thunder, when his foster sister Charlotte wakes him up before 8 am Sounds like a pawfect fit for your family? Apply to adopt Hank the Hound today!
